Have you carried out your professional activity until recently?
To come into consideration for a foreign mission you may not have stopped your professional activities for more than three years. If you continued doing your job over the age of 68 (professionally or voluntarily with a different NGO) you can still apply.

Step 3: Do you have the required work experience?

For nurses: 5 years
For doctors within their specialisation: 3 years
An exception can be made for anesthetists or doctors with a degree in tropical medicine.

Step 4: Do you speak French?

ATTENTION, your command of French should be sufficient to carry a conversation, so that you can work with your local colleagues and explain things to them. A conversation in French is part of the selection procedure. Knowledge of an African language is a bonus.

MWV is looking for people who are prepared to go abroad for at least two weeks.

ATTENTION: For each mission you will be requested to come at least twice to the MWV Office and all missions leave from Brussels; that’s why our distance limit is 250 km.

MWV wants to build a long-term co-operation with its partners. We are looking for people who are looking for a long term commitment and who want to go to Africa every year or every two years, for example. Before every mission there are 2 meetings in Mechelen which you have to attend.
